Have something to say? We're listening.

Common Future welcomes thoughtful contributions from young people in Europe, Canada, and beyond. You don't need a journalism degree — you need a perspective worth sharing and the willingness to work on it with our editors.

What we publish

  • Personal essays — lived experience, honestly told.
  • Opinion pieces — clear arguments, clearly labelled as opinion.
  • Cultural perspectives — identity, art, language, belonging.
  • Science communication — research explained for everyone.
  • Interviews — conversations with people doing interesting things.
  • Environmental initiatives — projects building sustainability locally.
  • Constructive policy ideas — proposals, not just complaints.

Contributor guidelines

  • Submit original work that you haven't published elsewhere.
  • Keep the dialogue respectful and constructive, even in disagreement.
  • Provide evidence and sources for factual claims.
  • Be transparent about conflicts of interest, affiliations, or funding.
  • No hate speech, harassment, or discriminatory content — ever.
  • All pieces go through editorial review before publication.
  • We clearly distinguish opinion from factual reporting — and so should you.

Send us your idea

No account needed. Tell us what you want to write and why you're the right person to write it. You can also reach us anytime at commonfutureyouth@gmail.com. We reply to every pitch.

A working title is fine — we'll refine it together.
What's the piece about, why now, and why you? (A short paragraph is enough.)
